Early Intervention for Late Talkers
Does your child need support to reach speech and language milestones? Our early intervention services use play and daily routines as language learning opportunities. We also provide you with helpful tips for interacting with your child at home, so that they can:
Develop receptive and expressive language skills
Reach their communication milestones
Effectively interact with others
Decrease frustration from communication challenges
Therapy for Gestalt Language Processing
Does your child communicate through delayed echolalia or scripting? This is called gestalt language processing, which is a way some children learn language. Gestalt Language Processing requires a different type of speech therapy to help your child move from repeating what they’ve heard to coming up with their own language. We will connect with your child during play and model natural language that is important to them so that they can:
Communicate with others to share ideas, wants, and needs
Become intrinsically motivated to communicate
Move from using echolalia (or repeating what they’ve heard before) to using their own language
Speech Therapy for Children
Is your child difficult to understand or having a hard time making certain speech sounds? Our speech therapy sessions are tailored to improve your child’s individual speech sound errors, whether based in articulation or phonology. Your child will engage in fun games and activities as they:
Make age-appropriate speech sounds clearly
Become more confident in their communication skills
Effectively speak to family members and friends
Reduce frustration from not being understood
Alternative & Augmentative Communication (AAC) Evaluations & Therapy
Using a combination of low-tech and high-tech AAC systems, your child will have all the tools they need to communicate! Our approach is to join your child in activities and games they are interested in while modeling meaningful language using AAC. AAC therapy will help your child:
Share wants, needs, ideas, feelings, and questions
Interact with family and friends
Confidently communicate with less frustration
Participate in daily activities with independence
Learn to communicate in all environments
